STILLDRY ISLAND
A ROUTE-MUSEUM
ACROSS THE BAUGES MOUNTAINS
Let M be an out-of-the-city museum, Set in what is considered as an island, Or a mountain, "both at once: the island is a mountain under water, and the mountain an island that is still dry" (G. Deleuze), An island whose undiscovered potential lies in the peripheral liberation from the established consensus, A mountain lost in the endless extension of an urbanised area in which it threatens to sink.
Let this very M be an art museum Conceived as the island end-to-end crossing or a hiking route, both at once, a hiking route in which the museum turns into the framework of a pedestrian exploration of space, a crossing which turns the spectator's walk into the contemplative activity key driver.
Let this M be a linear museum Built like a several-day-long route Or an out-of-time retreat, both at once An out-of-time retreat to explore art relationship with the landscape around it, A several-day-long route punctuated with overnight stops.
Let P be M's architectural project Set in the Bauges mountains Between the alpine cities of Annecy and Chambéry In 8 stages
